A successful start to the season!!!
The Academy has commenced pre-season fixtures. All players have gained valuable playing time over the last two weekends in the Santa Barbara Rugby Day and Long Beach State University tournament.
Two teams travelled down to the Long Beach Tournamnet with hopes of defending their title from last year. We entered two squads into the ‘A’ and ‘B’ competitions and had an overall 8-1 record with the ‘A’ squad winning their championship and ‘B’ squad reaching the final only to lose in a close match. Every member of the Academy performed fantastically and all new players are picking up patterns of play very well. MVP of the tournament was Vili Vaipulu though a number of the Academy players put themselves forward for that honour with their performances.
